Join us on September 28, 2024
See how neighbors create healthier and more energy-efficient homes and environments with green building practices, such as solar panels with energy storage, rain gardens, superior insulation, and more.

Tour a Green Home
Register to go inside green homes in Princeton. Tickets are free but spots are limited. Must be 18 years or older to go inside a home.

Take a few minutes to admire rain gardens, native plants, and properties from the curb (points of interest are not guided tours).

2024 In-Person House Tours
Join us on September 28, 2024. This is a free event open to the public. Registration is required for the in-person tours of the houses as there are a limited number of tickets available for each tour. Each home you would like to visit must be registered separately. If you plan to see multiple homes please choose different time slots for each tour. Most homes are within a five to ten-minute walk from one another.
You must be at least 18 years of age to go inside the homes.

Abe’s whole-house renovation within a historic district features heat pumps, solar, gas utility disconnection, induction cooking, sustainable materials, and more than we can fit here!
Hello sunshine, goodbye gas
This house features a geothermal heat pump, an induction cooktop, and a rooftop solar array with backup lithium-phosphate batteries.

This retrofit-in-progress received its nickname for its radiant heating/cooling floor. Other features include a ground source heat pump, passive solar design, and thermal energy storage.
Leedin’ on linden
Tour one of the only LEED-for-homes platinum-certified houses in Princeton. This unique and beautiful home was designed by local architect, Kirsten Thoft.
BLOOMIN’ ON BIRCH
This beautiful home was custom-built to meet the most stringent environmental standards. It features Geothermal, solar panels, heat-pump water heaters, two-layer insulation, sustainable materials, and so much more.

This is the home that inspired the tour! See how a local homeowner built a sustainable home designed for aging in place using LEED building principles.
You must be at least 18 years of age to go inside a home.
None of the homes are ADA-accessible.
Participants should be comfortable walking up and down at least one flight of stairs.
Please note that attendance is at your own risk.
